Construction and commissioning

From installed equipment to an operational asset.

Commissioning connects construction delivery, grid requirements and future operations. IVATION coordinates the technical steps towards handover, tracks outstanding issues and represents your interests with EPC contractors and suppliers within the agreed scope.

Your outcome

A coordinated handover starts before construction ends.

Tests, responsibilities and documents must come together in time. We connect technical construction supervision and quality assurance with protection testing, grid approval and acceptance. Owners, delivery partners and the future operator gain a clear view of progress.

01

Assess completion and commissioning readiness

Site coordination, EPC management and construction progress provide the starting point. We assess technical completion, track quality issues and align outstanding work with the agreed programme. Relevant variations and claims are considered in project control so their implications for timing and handover remain visible.

Your outcomeA structured completion status with open issues and responsibilities.
02

Prepare and support protection testing

Protection equipment and the connection concept must match the installed plant. We coordinate protection testing with the specialist partners involved, bringing together technical prerequisites, dates and required documents. Findings and outstanding clarifications inform preparation for the subsequent commissioning steps.

Your outcomeA traceable testing status for the next approval stages.
03

Coordinate grid approval and metering

Grid operator requirements, the metering concept and technical connection readiness are reviewed together. We coordinate the necessary discussions and track outstanding prerequisites. Grid approval remains with the responsible authority or operator; its requirements are reflected clearly in the project programme.

Your outcomeCoordinated connection prerequisites and organised approval documentation.
04

Acceptance, records and handover

As an independent owner’s engineer, we support acceptance and handover. Technical records, test results and open issues are brought together for the future operator. Agreed operational support can follow, keeping knowledge from design and construction available during the next project phase.

Your outcomeA structured handover with clear documentation and outstanding actions.

Before we start

Two questions to get started.

When should commissioning preparation begin?

During design and construction. Protection, metering, grid requirements and records affect handover and should be coordinated early with the EPC contractor and specialist partners.

Can you support just one stage?

Yes. A partial scope is possible. The initial discussion establishes the plant status, tests already completed and the required coordination or owner’s engineering support.

What still needs resolving before handover?

Tell us about construction progress, outstanding tests and your handover target.
